This weekend in Portland: 3.20 – 3.22

With the overwhelming bounty of amazing things happening in Portland on any given weekend, sorting through it all to find the perfect activities to fill our invaluable free time can be taxing. To help make your planning a little easier, we’ve put together a list of the things we think are most worthy of your time.

Friday – Sunday, 3.20 – 3.22 – Portland Roadster Showhours vary, $8 for parking, $16 for entry, (link)

If you’re into old school, American, hot rods that are probably worth more than all the cars you’ll ever own in your life combined, the Portland Roadster Show might be up your alley. The weekend-long event at the Expo Center focuses mainly on trucks and muscle cars, so if you’re willing to accept the machismo that comes with it, you might want to put this event on your list.

Friday – Sunday, 3.20 – 3.22 – APEX: Cris Bruch$15 or $12 w/ Student ID (link)

This weekend will be your last chance to catch the latest exhibit in the APEX series at PAM. It’s an installation of multimedia sculptures from Cris Bruch, and they’re inspired by the forms and structures throughout rural America. The materials Bruch uses are incredibly interesting, ranging from crushed corn to Lincoln logs. Make sure to get down to PAM and check it out for yourself.

Saturday, 3.21XRAY.FM’s 1st Birthday Bash with Minden9pm, 21+, $10 or $5 for XRAY Members, (link)

Just one year ago this Saturday, XRAY.FM busted open the doors onto the local radio scene, and after giving a swift sack-tap to corporate fatcats, they put radio back in the hands of the listener. To ring in the milestone, XRAY is teamed up with PDX Pop Now! and Mississippi Studios to throw a hell of a rager including cake, balloons and the sweet sweet music of Minden. Support from Holiday Friends and Secret Drum Band.
