Through intimate portrait photography, some publications have the lofty goal of telling the stories of oftentimes overlooked people you’d pass every day on the street. More locally, some “alt” rags might showcase “street style” galleries, in some manner of an odd, unregulated fashion contest. But in our newest photo column, Portraits of Portland, we’re not here to tell stories, or put anyone’s stylings up on a pedestal, we’re simply aiming to catalogue the every day beauty of the people who make the city of Portland the odd, ever-evolving, melting pot that it is.
