Helvetia is one of the most crucial bands to call the Pacific Northwest home in the past decade. Frontman and songwriter Jason Albertini’s musical origins date back to his time drumming for Duster and have lead to his current role playing bass for the legendary Built To Spill. His personal work as Helvetia blends influence of both aforementioned groups, with a dark, experimental psych-tinged sound that sweeps across elements of atmospheric droning, fuzzed-out guitar meanderings, and grooving, melodic arrangements throughout their prolific catalogue.

Before the release of Helvetia’s new EP Sun Chaser’s due out this November, Noise & Color is pleased to premiere the group’s brand new music video for “The Rubber Maids” off of last year’s Dromomania (which made our best local albums of 2015 list). Directed by Chris Filippone with cinematography by Ian Mosley-Duffy, the video follows a ill-tempered horse man as he wreaks havoc across town, with an ensuing police chase. Watch it below.

If you’re in the Rockies, catch them on a string of upcoming shows this week.
